Hi! I’m Sarah, a high school drama teacher, and certified yoga instructor. I started Teach and Be Well as a place to share my wellness journey with other educators.
As a teacher, I know you don’t have a lot of time to devote to a healthy lifestyle. Do you know you need to eat better, but wonder where you’ll find the time to cook? Maybe you even pin healthy recipes on Pinterest and think “Someday…” Or maybe you have every intention of going to the gym… after you finish grading papers. (Yeah right!) Are you feeling overwhelmed and worn down mentally? Are you unsure what “self-care” even looks like, much less how you go about fitting it into your schedule?
I used to be right where you are, eating fast food at late night rehearsals, finding myself in a tailspin that would surely lead to burnout and depression. I felt unhealthy. Physically and mentally. That’s when I started on my wellness journey. It was a slow process, collecting ideas from YouTube, Pinterest, podcasts, blogs… I would take things that fit into my teaching lifestyle, and as I began to feel better, it inspired me to make more and more healthy changes. Eventually I began to see how I could make this healthy teacher lifestyle thing work!
That’s why I created Teach and Be Well. I wanted to take all of this knowledge I’ve collected and share it with you. (I am a teacher after all!) I wanted to make it easy to learn healthy habits that will fit easily into your busy life, recipes that don’t take an entire day to make, and motivation that if I can do it you can too!
If you love what you do, but you’re tired of sacrificing your health and wellness to do it then you’ve stumbled across the right corner of the internet! I’m so glad you’re here!
