By far the best change fitness has brought into my life is meal prepping. Not only has it massively improved my eating habits, but it saves me tons of time and money. I now spend an hour or so each Sunday, chopping, cooking, and doing dishes. It certainly makes the rest of the week a whole lot easier. I can have a week’s worth of lunches (like my Burrito Bowls), ready and in my fridge. Here are a few of my favorite tools I’ve started using over time that make my weekly meal prep so much faster and easier.

This is a recent addition to my kitchen, and I already don’t know how I lived without it! Rice is a fairly easy dish to make, so I didn’t understand why I’d need a special appliance to make it. However, this thing has been a lifesaver. I can simply add water and rice, then I set it and forget it. I don’t have to watch the stove or wait for water to boil. This means I can get lots of other things finished while I’m waiting for my rice. Bonus: you can make quinoa or pasta in a rice maker as well. No matter what carb you choose, this appliance will make your meal prep a breeze.
I have been living from my slow cooker since I moved out of my parent’s house. Not only is it a wonderful tool for having dinner ready when you get home, but it’s perfect for making a week’s worth of lunches. I love anything that allows me to cook while doing other things. You can just dump some ingredients in and let it cook while you check off the rest of your weekend to-do list.
When I’m prepping my food for the week, the last thing I want to do is spend time chopping. I love being able to pop veggies into the food processor and get them chopped quickly so that I can move onto the next thing.
Meal Prep Containers
Maybe I just love organization, but there’s something about having matching meal prep containers that makes me happy. They stack neatly in the cupboard, and they look so well organized in the fridge, ready for the week. Bonus: they act like a mini countdown until FRIDAY!!
